She's Going to School!

OYes, yes I am!

When we first launched our Kickstarter campaign in the summer of 2013, my goal was to open a little bakery in my families shop to save money for college someday. At the age of 14 I basically had no idea what it would be like to own my own business. But with the help and guidance of my awesome family and my Mom's entrepreneur background... WE DID IT! For 3 1/2 years I baked and baked and learned so many valuable lessons. I can't even express in words how grateful I am (though I will try ;)).

This has been the best experience for me in so many ways! I've met so many cool and artistic people -- I've learned more than I could have ever imagined possible. With different interviews here and there, learning the basics of customer service, improving recipes and more.

Now that it's time for me to go to school, I will be putting the bakery on pause for a couple of years while I go to school and focus on our latest endeavor - Makers Unwound. I plan on writing (recipes + more) and taking photographs for our grass roots quarterly.

What's going to happen?

I will stop baking completely by March 4th 2017 at 5pm.

I'm turning my focus to something new and will no longer have time for my bakery but I want you all to know that I accomplished my goal! In the beginning it started out as someday maybe applying for a Culinary Arts Program or something artistic. I have decided to apply at CWI for learning and growing in a Horticulture program, pun intended. ;)

Come into the shop and be sure to ask us for our recipes! We'll have a limited supply of simple booklets filled with our favorite recipes by the 7th of March (follow along on social media for updates) They will be offered at our shop or online soon.

The kitchen will serve the purpose of a "test kitchen" for Makers Unwound and Bee wise Goods will continue to provide a great little stop in your day for a gift or unique find.

By March 7th we will no longer have seating or coffee/tea available.

I feel so honored to have been able to do this, with support of the community, my family + friends and all the people I've met along the way! Heres to a new season of life!

Thank you for coming along, stick around to see what we'll be doing next. ;)

We'll be actively keeping you up to date on our Instagram accounts, which you can find at @BeeWiseGoods + @MakersUnwound.
